Seeking the Lord's Strength

Seeking the Lord's Strength

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it is all too easy to become distracted and lose sight of what truly matters. The world often pulls our attention in various directions, making it challenging to focus on our spiritual growth. However, the scripture from 1 Chronicles 16:11 reminds us of the importance of seeking the Lord and His strength continually.

The Call to Seek

“Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.” This verse serves as a clarion call to each of us. It invites us to actively pursue a relationship with God, to seek His strength in our weaknesses, and to keep our eyes fixed on Him in every season of life. The promise here is profound: when we seek the Lord, we are not just searching for answers or blessings; we are seeking His very presence.

To seek His face is to desire intimacy with Him, to long for His guidance, and to trust in His power to sustain us. In times of struggle, it is easy to rely on our own understanding or strength. Yet, God invites us to lay down our burdens at His feet and find refuge in His might. When we seek Him continually, we cultivate a habit of prayer and worship that strengthens our spirits.

The Continuous Pursuit

The word "continually" emphasizes the need for a persistent and relentless pursuit of God. This does not mean we will always feel His presence or experience His strength in the same way. Yet, it is in the act of seeking that we grow. Here are some practical ways to seek the Lord continually:

  • Start and end your day with prayer, inviting God into every part of your life.
  • Read and meditate on scripture, allowing His words to guide your thoughts and actions.
  • Engage in worship, whether through music, art, or service to others.
  • Surround yourself with a community of believers who encourage and uplift your faith journey.

Each of these practices not only strengthens our relationship with God but also equips us to face the challenges of life with confidence. When we seek the Lord and His strength, we are reminded that we do not walk this path alone.
